JFC Rd.3 Leighlinbridge 1-6 Eire Og 3-15

After an encouraging first half, Leighlin were simply outclassed in

the second by Eire Og.

Having trailed by 1-2 to 0-0 early on,

Lee Conran scored a badly needed goal which got the All

Blacks back in contention.

Points from Val Fleming and Dean Collins followed, but

a goal from Cian Clancy just before half time gave Eire Og

a 2-4 to 1-3 lead.

Eire Og rattled off six points without response early in the second

half, with early goal scorer Mark Kelly accounting for three.

Leighlin found the going tough and could only manage three points

in the entire second half through Val Fleming, Willie Kearney and

Lee Conran.

A third Eire Og goal from a Corey Harmon penalty ended Leighlin’s

hopes and they will now meet either Rathvilly or Palatine in

the quarter finals.
